Previously, the ASK GIA blog has introduced various gloves in SW’s PowerForm glove series. SW’s newest PowerForm glove is our PF-95IN, a powder free and silicone free nitrile examination glove. Our PowerForm series focuses on features that enable workers to execute tasks with more confidence. PowerForm focuses on functional advancements to optimize everyday, on-the-job performance. PF-95IN is a multipurpose glove that provides optimal thickness for durability and tactile sensitivity. It has a fully textured surface for wet and dry grip environments. Additionally, PF-95IN has a tear-resistant beaded cuff for easy donning and doffing.

Specifically, our PF-95IN glove is tested against microorganisms under the EN 374-5:2016 standard. Making it fit for general examination use. Being a nitrile glove, PF-95IN is more resistant to puncturing, more resistant to chemicals, and more resistant to oil and grease. Most importantly, PF-95IN is latex free and all SW gloves have low dermatitis potential as certified by the Skin Health Alliance. Since nitrile is a synthetic plastic polymer, it will not trigger latex allergies, which can cause life threatening allergic reactions such as anaphylactic shock. In addition, while silicone allergies are rarer, it can cause contact dermatitis as well. PF-95IN is the best prevention for these allergies.

PF-95IN caters to the automotive industry as well. Workers in the automotive industry may not just need cut or abrasion protection but chemical protection too. SW’s PowerForm glove series offers adequate chemical resistance required for most of the painting, adhesion, lubrication and cleaning tasks in automotive parts and components manufacturing. However, PF-95IN offers a special and unique feature different from our other gloves in the PowerForm series, of being silicone free. Silicone is a polymer made up of silicon, carbon, and oxygen. Silicone is used often in industrial lubricants, mold-releasing agents, and greases due to its high temperature limit (around 400-450 degrees Fahrenheit).

These many positives become a negative in certain industrial settings, such as during the application of painted or dipped coatings, or when adhesives are applied. Silicone resists adhesion with certain coatings, along with being very difficult to remove because of chemical inertness. Some particular settings that require silicone free gloves are clean rooms or auto body detailing.

PF-95IN provides protection that is strong enough to stand up to rigorous use while providing sensitivity and dexterity. SW understands that automotive jobs often need workers to maintain high dexterity in various different and difficult working conditions. This is made even more difficult when the PPE used restricts free and flexible movement of the hand. The subtle annoyance of inadequate PPE causes workers to forgo hand protection rather than properly protecting their hands.

Our brand is always thinking of new products that tackle the needs of our customers. We spend the time to develop new technology so our customers can make the easy choice of prioritizing sustainability without compromising on the best hand protection.
