Working long hours can cause irritability and create discomfort for users. It can be especially uncomfortable, particularly when sweat builds up in a glove. There may be a weird slickness or itchy feeling. Wetness in single use gloves is not only uncomfortable but it limits a user’s mobility, dexterity, and tactility. Not to mention it may further lead to other safety hazards. How and why does sweat generate in gloves? With the prolonged usage of gloves, some sweat will naturally begin to accumulate. Within a glove exists a closed environment which traps warm air and moisture. Increased environmental temperatures will trigger sweat in order to maintain a regular body temperature. This enclosed environment will trap moisture that is produced by one’s hands, causing irritability.
Ultimately sweat hands lead to discomfort, which require more glove changes. More frequent glove changes also leads to lower workplace productivity. This generates higher costs for the business as well.
Therefore it’s extremely important to find proper fitting gloves. Smaller glove sizes would further restrict the enclosed environment inside of a glove. A properly fit and size glove should feel comfortably snug around one’s hands and with ample dexterity. The disposable glove should not feel like it’s restricting movement of the hand. One should be able to move their fingers around and flex their hand without noticeable stretching of the material. The most consistent method is to find the right size for the width of your palm as well as the length of your fingers. SW’s disposable nitrile gloves are available in sizes extra small to triple extra large. The sizes follow and comply with ASTM 6319’s sizing standards. SW products are produced at the highest quality for our customers’ comfort and safety.
SW also has other solutions for combating hand sweat with our sweat management technology. Energel, Dritek, and DryCore all aim to reduce hand perspiration in various ways. Energel has a natural cooling effect, working to reduce the optimal environment for sweat accumulation. Dritek rapidly absorbs sweat, and DryCore is our lint-free alternative to Dritek. They both work to limit existing perspiration from affecting the working environment.
At SW, we are committed to leading the glove industry in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. Our innovative EcoTek® technology exemplifies our dedication to sustainable solutions, while our expertise in sweat management ensures comfort and performance. We also offer specialized chemical compatibility support, assisting customers in selecting gloves tailored to their unique needs.
