Last year, this blog detailed SW’s first exhibition at the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) trade show. SW will be attending SEMA again this year, next week from October 31st to November 3rd in Las Vegas, Nevada. To recap and summarize, the SEMA trade show is a premiere event where many automotive specialty products are showcased. It has been an annual event for the past 60 years. The show is an opportunity for automotive experts in the industry to congregate as well as provide a platform to introduce new innovative automotive products.

We targeted SEMA as we believe SW’s products are an asset and necessity in the automotive industry. Our products cater to the automotive industry since our gloves specialize in resistance to abrasion, cut protection, puncture resistance and protection against liquid environments. In the automotive industry, there can be hazards in the workplace due to chemical or hydraulic fluid spills, injuries when operating machinery, or repeated handling of abrasives. Last year we exhibited our MegaMan, GraphEx, KarbonHex, and PowerForm glove series at SEMA.

GraphEx (G66200) offers thick cut protection required for glass and sheet metal handling without compromising the flexibility, dexterity and grip of the glove. The proprietary AxiFybr yarn used to manufacture the GraphEx series is engineered at the molecular level to be 45% stronger and 21% more cut-resistant without sacrificing fit or comfort.

KarbonHex (KX41, KX42 and KX10) is the preferred choice for most of the lightweight jobs requiring sensitivity and dexterity in handling small, lubricated parts. The series is specifically designed for ergonomic hand protection with its nitrile palm coating.

MegaMan is a more durable and multi-layer nitrile flock-lined glove that lasts three times longer than a regular nitrile glove. This is a perfect solution for most of the routine manual labor tasks involved in automotive parts and components manufacturing. The glove is designed for long term usage without compromising in comfortability, containing SW’s DriTek technology lining inside. DriTek technology curbs sweat accumulation, meaning less irritability throughout long periods of wear. MegaMan also provides good abrasion resistance combined with adequate puncture resistance and protection against liquids, making it a competitive general-purpose glove for automotive parts and components manufacturing.

PowerForm offers adequate chemical resistance required for most of the painting, adhesion, lubrication and cleaning tasks in automotive parts and components manufacturing. The glove series is tested against the American Society of Testing and Materials’ (ASTM) D6978 Standard Practice for Assessment of Resistance of Medical Gloves to Permeation by Chemotherapy Drugs. The tests have determined the gloves to be resistant up to 4 hours against permeable chemicals such as fentanyl and were also tested against simulated gastric acid. Thus, they are suited for light chemical mixing, or other chemical handling and assembly.

This year we will have MegaMan and PowerForm at our booth along with some new products. We are introducing our new PowerForm nitrile glove PF-95OR. It is SW’s new sustainable nitrile exam TracTek Grip Glove with EcoTek technology. PF-95OR’s hi-vis orange color provides improved safety in the workfield. TracTek’s performance grip technology reduces the amount of strain placed on your hands and increases your control in wet and oily environments.

Not only will we be exhibiting these products at the SEMA trade show, but the AAPEX (Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo) trade show as well. It will be SW’s first time attending the trade show, which runs the same week from October 31st to November 2nd in Las Vegas too. It has been running for over 25 years, having been established in 1992. AAPEX is an opportunity to meet different automotive real vendors, with 1,200+ product categories, 1,400+ suppliers, and attendees from 44 countries. AAPEX attendees include auto parts retailers, warehouse distributors, technicians, and service chains from the automotive aftermarket industry.

SW will be showcasing the same products at both venues, so feel free to stop by our booth if you are planning on attending. We are excited to learn from the industry’s best so we can continue to make our products better, and tailor them to the needs of our customers. SW is focused on continuing its research on the current needs of the automotive industry and we look forward to showcasing our new innovative products this year at both shows.
