Different raw materials of elastomers are used to make hand protection gloves. Most obviously, different applications require different performance achievements, so different gloves are necessary to fulfill these achievements. latex or natural rubber offers great dexterity and flexibility, nitrile offers great chemical protection with durability. Neoprene, on the other hand, is the intermediate of both nitrile and latex, counterparts of some of the goods of both types explained above.
While many customers favor nitrile for chemical resistance, neoprene also provides resistance to chemicals with more flexibility than nitrile. Additionally, neoprene has acceptable mechanical resistance than latex with a more equal secure grip as of latex for handling small parts and slippery objects. The different properties of each material inevitably regulate them for different uses and industries.
Neoprene returns to its original shape easily after being stretched. Neoprene is resistant to degradation from sunlight, weather, oxidation, ozone, aging, freons, and mild acids. It naturally protects against most solvents, oils, and mild corrosive materials. The advantageous qualities of neoprene come from its synthetic rubber polymers (polychloroprene (CPR) or chloroprene rubber).
The qualities listed above make neoprene gloves useful for various industries requiring chemical protection while performing mechanical tasks. SW’s selection of neoprene gloves includes our PowerChem glove series (PC-95GR and PC-045-095GR). Our PowerChem gloves are powder-free for verified low dermatitis potential, and ASTM tested against viral penetration.
SW’s PC-95GR glove features a textured surface that delivers excellent grip control. It’s ergonomically designed for user comfort, with more physical performance and with acceptable chemical resistance.
SW’s PC-045-095GR glove is silicone-free for critical environments and has a more user-friendly structure. It exceeds 1.5 AQL laboratory standards, guaranteeing high-quality performance and a low glove failure rate. It is completely latex-free pure neoprene to protect against latex allergies. The glove is designed to have optimal thickness for durability while maintaining high tactile sensitivity. Its tear-resistant beaded cuff makes for easy donning and wearer comfortability.
At SW, we are committed to leading the glove industry in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. Our innovative EcoTek® technology exemplifies our dedication to sustainable solutions, while our expertise in sweat management ensures comfort and performance. We also offer specialized chemical compatibility support, assisting customers in selecting gloves tailored to their unique needs. Our mission is to provide products that prioritize safety, health, and environmental responsibility for our customers and the planet.
